Sophisticated Nurseries: A Look Inside at Client Photos

Designer Erin Gates made this lovely grisaille scheme for her child’s nursery.

Every stylish parent struggles with the right nursery decor. Too bright, and it can clash with the rest of the house. Too cutesy, and the child will quickly outgrow it.

What can you do for a look that is sophisticated and serene, yet fun? These three designers solved the problem with murals.

First up, this lovely grey and cream scheme for a boy’s room,  by designer Erin Gates. Doesn’t the little kid in you just want to ride that giraffe?

We love everything about this room- practical, stylish, inviting!

Designer Amy Berry created this lovely blue and white scheme. An interesting example of a mural in a room with angled ceilings. Note how cleverly the angles and dormer have been incorporated into the design.

Here’s another take, from a Virginia homeowner. Our Aldsworth Faded mural, paired with soft blue ( a color like Benjamin Moore “Lookout Point 1646” or Farrow and Ball “Pale Powder 204” would work well).
